David's Blog

Greetings from America - to the Inshes Church Family

Dear All,

This is just a brief note from Houston, USA sending our love to all at Inshes & assuring you of our prayers during these trying times and particularly aware that as a church family you will not be able to meet together on Sunday 22nd March. While out visiting our son Paul & his wife, Ashley, we have been following the news in the UK of all the consequences of the struggle to combat the Coronavirus. It sounds like things are pretty much the same as they are here in the US with so much closing and restrictions on people gathering together. Its a time of great uncertainty for all of us. We were due to fly back on Monday 23rd but our flight has been cancelled. We are currently pursuing alternative arrangements.

I was reading this morning in Romans 8 and was encouraged by the great promise contained in v32 which reminds us in any situation of need, there are good grounds for turning to and relying on God to supply - He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Looking to this God, praying for you all and hoping to be back among you (at least in the same vicinity!) soon

Much love

David & Susan

PS If you want to think a little more about the richness of Romans 8.32 I noticed later on in the day that John Piper's daily blog was also focusing on it. You can read it here God's best promise

PPS Update - Since first writing this I'm glad to say that we have been given seats on another flight back to the UK on Monday, so, God willing, we should be back in Inverness on Tuesday - grateful for this answer to prayer.
